How do I clear unwanted stuff from sidebar?

    I’ve just set up my blog, but I can’t work out how to clear unwanted items (CATEGORIES, SEARCH, ARCHIVES and META)from my sidebar. I’ve been through all the help material but can’t find the answer.

    Can anyone help me with this?

    ALSO …. beneath the heading of my blog there appears the following ….. “Filed under UNCATEGORISED my username/date and EDIT THIS BUTTON. Can anyone advise how I get rid of this?

    AND FINALLY … I have disabled comments, but the blog still shows a reference to COMMENTS. Can anyone advise how I get rid of this?

    Look in Appearance > Widgets

    Hi Mark

    Thanks for your response. To clarify … this blog is not intended to “fool Google”.
    The intention is to post on SEO related issues … and yes I hope that people will go to my website.

    If that is unwelcome on WordPress please advise me and I’ll take the blog down.
