How do I come back after deleting my blog?

  • Unknown's avatar

Months ago I deleted my blog site which I had for all of two days and never published. I am ready to try a blog now, but how do I get my new email address to replace the current one which will not allow me to post anything on a blog after being deleted permanently? I want Gravatar to match my wordpress site still and it has been implied it may not happen if I change my username. I have a draft page pending as if I have a blog, but going to that page publicly one encounters “what you are looking for is not here.” And that it no longer exists…. so how do I make it exist?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Deleting a free hosted WordPress.com blog requires ignoring multiple warning messages clearly stating that URL deletion is permanent and irreversible. Not only that it requites using the verification link sent in the email and ignoring that same warning there too.

The deleted blog URL will not become available again. I’m sorry but you cannot recover or register any deleted blog URL. Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.

You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.

This blog has NOT been deleted http://katherinejlegry.wordpress.com/

re: the front page error message

By default the front page of the blog is the only page that will display all published posts on it. As soon as you publish a post not a page the error message will be gone. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/

For creating a post see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/#publish-a-new-post

    Hi,

It sounds like you have a blog ‘katherinejlegry.wordpress.com’ and you have signed in and written a new post and you are ready to publish to katherinejlegry.wordpress.com. The thing is you want to make sure that when you sign-in and publish with WordPress that it uses the correct Gravatar which is assigned to an old email you no longer have.

I can see on your blog that there are no posts or a front page, that is why you are seeing ‘Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn’t here.’.

To make the page you just made show up first publish your draft page, and then hover your cursor over ‘SKINNY NECK’ in the top left hand corner, go to Dashboard > Customize and then go to ‘Front’ on the sidebar to the right, in this menu under Front page displays select ‘A Static page’ now use the drop down menu to select the page you just published.

Have I understood your problem properly?

Re: Gravatar to match up with WordPress account

The next step to get your Gravatar matched up to your WordPress blog is to go ahead and sign-up for a brand new Gravatar account. And simply use your new email address, the same email address you use for katherinejlegry.wordpress.com blog. Upload the same picture you used before in your old Gravatar account.

now that your Gravatar account and your WordPress.com account are using the same email address they will match up. When you sign-in to your katherinejlegry.wordpress.com blog, you will see your Gravatar in the usual spots that you would expect to see it.
