how do i come back to wordpress.com from wordpress.org?
-
Hi there, I have been blogging with WordPress.com for about five years but a few months ago thought I would like to switch to self-hosting. However I have found that it is too complex for me and I feel I would like to come back to WordPress.com. I have been in touch with BlueHost and they sent me the cancellation link for once I’ve exported the blog content (which I have done), but I don’t know what to do next. Do I upload the content to my original wordpress.com site (which has a paid-for URL, cavemum.com, hosted through BlueHost), and then just cancel the hosting to the other site? I’m nervous that my URL will just send browsers to a deleted site and not to the WordPress.Com site.
THANKS for your help!
Medina

Hi there,
Yes, you would indeed want to import the file which you had received from your WordPress.org site. Once that is done, you’ll want to thoroughly check the site to make sure all of your content is present and working correctly. Once that’s done, you’ll need to buy mapping for your domain “cavemum.com” and change your domain’s nameservers towards us.
Let me know if you need any help with any of those steps!
