How do I comment in the Reader but have it link to my wp.org site?
-
I use JetPack on my wp.org site (thediligentwoman.com) to connect to the wp.com services. I have Reader, which has both the .com and the .org sites linked to it. But I can only comment if I am logged in as the .com site. Is there a way to comment that would direct back to the .org site? It is confusing to go to the .com site because I’m not maintaining it. Is there a way for it to be “live” so that Jetpack will work, but also “hidden” so that all traffic only goes to the self-hosted site?
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You might look into the Site Redirect upgrade. That way people would be directed to your self-hosted site any time they clicked to your old .com site.

Is Site Redirect different than Domain mapping? I already have the mapping paid for. Also, my wp.com was listed as the primary – I changed it to the wp.org site as the primary – could that have affected the commenting connection?

There isn’t really a difference between mapping and redirect if you are using a custom domain. Redirect can be used for a few additional situations, but they don’t apply to you.
If you are logged into the WordPress.com reader, you will not be able to login and comment as your WordPress.org account, if that is what you are asking. You could change your domains listed here to match your WordPress.org URL:
