How do I completely cancel my domain mapping so I can use my domain elsewhere?

  Hi. I cancelled domain mapping for one of my WordPress.com sites. I plan to use the domain to set up a WordPress.org site with Bluehost. However, after cancelling the domain mapping for johnmgreer.com, every time I enter it in, I just see the error message:

  “Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain. “

  also, the domain mapping that I want to use elsewhere is

  johnmgreer.com

  Hey John!

  I took a look at your domain mapping.

  The domain is disconnected from your WordPress.com site, but it appears as if the domain still has our name servers, so it is “pointing” to WordPress.com.

  In order to change this, you’ll need to adjust the name servers with your domain’s registrar.
