How do I completely delete widgets from my blog?

Widgets are appearing on some pages of my blog, but when I go to delete them it shows that there aren’t any.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

By default we will display a series of widgets on your site. If you’d like to remove them, simply add a Text Widget with no content, and all widgets will disappear.

Or you can switch to a theme that does not display widgets at all, or hides them behind a button.
