How do I COMPLETELY remove myself from account

I want to delete my account completely, which I apparently am not able to do for some stupid reason. Please note – I am not trying to remove a blog, I am trying to remove myself from wordpress completely.

Sadly it looks like my best option is to just change the email address, but I assume I need to access that email to verify the change. Well I don’t want to attach it to another of my own emails, and most of the throwaway/temporary email address services are blocked and won’t save if I try to change to them. So what the hell are my options here? I just want out – for good.

Is there any way I can just horribly violate terms of service somehow so they obliterate my account off of the internet due to their policies. What if I’m only 10? 10 year olds shouldn’t have wordpress… you should probably do something about that.

You can just unsubscribe from WordPress.com emails. You don’t need to change the email address.

This support document guides you through the account inactivation process: https://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/

Thanks for the attempted help, but I’m not trying to make the leash invisible…I’m trying to remove it completely. Not your fault though as wordpress provides no reasonable solutions to offer.

I’m just going to have to make an idling nonexistent email address for the idling not in use wordpress account I guess… It’s pretty pathetic that it seems to be the best/only option. I had already unsubscribed and left it in limbo but it always finds ways to remind me of its existence every few years.

Fun Fact – I never wanted to deal with wordpress but had to make an account (among many others) as part of a college class. Most I had managed to clean up or remove over the years, and mostly with ease… but wordpress….impossible. I guess they just want to be special??

Accounts cannot be deleted so we cannot be impersonated by anyone registering and using the same username in the future. Also note that Automattic Inc. owns wordpress.COM and also many other products and services listed here https://automattic.com/ that do require a wordpress.COM account. Therefore account deactivation is provided and account deletion is not provided.

    Registering an account here required
    (1) your consent to the Terms of Service http://wordpress.com/tos/ and all policies made under it found in the support docs like this one http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/,
    and
    (2) an email address.

Any personal information you posted anywhere was posted voluntarily. Both the email address and personal information can be removed or replaced at any time.

I never had any personal information (or even any text) to worry about its just another dead empty account clinging to my email address.

Apparently there are a still few extremely disposable temp email services that will work. I would highlight that as a solution for the next person. (Although I assume you aren’t allowed for whatever dumb reasons)

It’s all good now though – I broke free from the human centipad!
