How do I consistently get one space between each paragraph?
-
My blogs are randomly appearing with spaces between some paragraphs and no space between others, even though I am submitting them all with a space between paragraphs.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey Mario!
It sounds as if you might be copying and pasting your text from a third-party program such as Microsoft Word and Notepad. If this is the case, instead of pasting it into the Visual tab in your editor, please paste it into the HTML tab.
You can also type directly into the HTML tab.
Once you’ve done that, you can click on the Visual tab, and do any additional formatting you’d like.
Let me know how that works out for you!
Thanks much.

Hi!
My suggestion is to highlight/cut/paste the content from the Visual tab in your editor, paste it into the HTML tab, and add the line breaks you want in that tab. Then, you can click over to the Visual tab if you want to make additional adjustments, or add images again.
Then, click Update to save those changes.

I understand what you’re saying for new blogs, but I don’t see the options you are describing, i.e. Editor/Visual/HTML in my existing blogs.
All I see is a Like box and a Comments caption.
Am I missing something?
-
Mario.
First off, you’ll need to open up your existing post in the editor. For instance:
https://wordpress.com/post/88927561/13/?optinCopy all the content that you see in your Post editor, as seen here:
https://cloudup.com/cRL8Aa18y_GThen, switch to your HTML tab, as seen here:
https://cloudup.com/czeFZ7XnKedDelete all the existing content in that box, and replace it by pasting what you copied from your Visual tab.
Return to the Visual tab, and then make any additional formatting you need.
Then click Update.
Let me know if that helps out at all! Thanks again.

I’m really missing something. I’m sorry.
When I go to my blog I don’t see any way to open an existing blog in an “Editor.”
Where did you get the 88927561/13/?optin from in your message above?

Hey there!
No prob! Happy to help :)
There are a couple ways to open up and edit blog posts that you’ve already published.
- Go to your site’s Dashboard, here:
https://wordpress.com/stats/neverhumbleopinions.wordpress.comYou can even bookmark that link, so you can go straight to it. Notice in the left-hand column that there is a link for Blog Posts. Click that and you’ll see:
https://cloudup.com/c5_0P7VnbnKClick the Edit link below the post you want to edit. Then, you’ll see your post in the editor.
- Or, you can open an older post like this one here:
https://neverhumbleopinions.wordpress.com/2015/04/08/lessons-for-indian-prime-minister-narendra-modi-in-the-hindu-attacks-on-innocent-christians/Scroll down until you see your Sharing Buttons and you’ll see this:
https://cloudup.com/cFBCexOw6LCClick Edit. You will now see your post in the editor. Don’t worry, by the way, this edit link is only visible to you, not to your readers!
Does that help? Let me know!
Thanks :)

In Item 1 above, when I click on Blog Posts on the Dashboard I do not see
https://cloudup.com/c5_0P7VnbnKI see:
https://wordpress.com/posts/neverhumbleopinions.wordpress.comBut I do see all my posts with an Edit option, in addition to View, Stats and Thrash.
When I click on Edit and then the HTML tab, I see my post with a bunch of code in between paragraphs and a bunch of buttons across the top:
https://wordpress.com/post/88927561/2/When I click on Visual, I see the spaces I want between paragraphs, but when I click on Preview or Update, the spaces disappear.
So, I’m getting warm but I’m not there yet. I need to know how the final blog has the spacing between paragraphs that I see in the Visual version. I probably have to type in some code in the HTML.
-
In a previous message above you had asked me to copy the text from the Visual tab in the editor – where everything looks the way I want it to – into the HTML tab after deleting the latter, which has all the codes.
I did this and it looked fine when I went back to Visual and in the Preview, but when I clicked Update and then went and viewed the finished product on the blog site, I found there were no spaces between the paragraphs, so I was back to square one.

Hey there!
Maybe my instructions weren’t clear enough? So, I made you a little video to show you how I added the line breaks to a previously published post.
You can find the video here:
https://cloudup.com/cujuYtwC4K2You can either play it online, or download the video, if you want to have it to watch whenever you need.
Thanks again!
-
I’m going to watch the video to see what I am missing.
As I mentioned above, I haven’t been able to see any links with “couldup” in them – except in your messages.
I’ll let you know what happens.
I know you are trying, so thanks for everything.
-
No problem! If you cannot download or stream the CloudUp file, you and I can find another way for you to see the video.
Thanks again!
-
I think I have finally figured out the editing process. Whew!
The link to the Dashboard was the key as was your video clip.
Thanks for your patience and your help.
-
Wonderful! I am so happy to hear this :)
I know there’s a learning curve with WordPress.com as a newer user, but once you are comfortable with all the tools, it will be smooth sailing!
