All support docs are at http://support.wordpress.com and that link is on the bottom of your Admin page as well as on many locations on this site. Type getting staff support into the seachbox there and click http://en.support.wordpress.com/?s=getting+staff+support

Thank you for the link, but I’ve already been through the support documents, and they do not address individual billing issues.
My primary problem is with the message “This blog’s domain __ expired.” My domain did NOT expire, as I found by checking the whois information. In fact, the domain MAPPING expired, which is a completely different issue. The messaging from WordPress is inaccurate and unclear.

Hi there! Sorry about the inconvenience this may have caused you. I recognize that the wording is a bit misleading and may cause some confusion. Rest assured that the message was pertaining to your domain mapping upgrade and not the domain registration.
As I checked your account, I can see that you were able to renew your domain mapping upgrade and your site is loading normally now. Please let me know if you run into any other problems. Thanks!

@druesome – would a couple of improvements be possible to help in the future?
1) make the wording from the cute robot better and cover both domain mapping & domain registration renewal?
2) on domain helper – add the expire date, like you see when doing a whois?
it would make helping much easier in the forum

Of course, I thought of another question in the meantime: How is the upcoming expiration of domain mapping communicated to the blog admins? Although I’m an admin on the blog in question, I didn’t receive any notice that we needed to renew the mapping. That would certainly be helpful.

The notice of renewal should go to the owner of the upgrade (not other Admin’s) – however in the past the notice has not been sent out – so best to mark your calendar for all the renewal dates –

As well, there should be a notification on your dashboard once you are 90 days away from expiry.
