I am so upset. I have been using this program for years. Spent hours on my post, saved it as a draft and came back and it’s gone. How can that be? What in the world?????
ANd, why does it keep asking me to go premium when I already am???
I”m not a happy costumer!~

I’m sorry about the lost post. Have you looked for it in the trash?
This has been a recurring problem for a long time and I wish they’d fix it. But until then, the best thing to do is to save a draft with just the title and a few words. Then publish it as private. When it’s finished, change the setting to public.
What I’ve done as well is make it a habit to select all, copy, then update the post. Sometimes, though, I’ll get distracted and copy something else then don’t you know: the “save draft” will vanish just that time.
There is also the option to use an offline editor:

The bonus is that you have a copy of your blog right there on your computer.I’ve noticed in the past day or two that some things have changed behind the scenes. Notable is that the “revisions” module is no longer available. It’s now part of the “Publish” module, but it only appears after you save a draft three times. I haven’t tried it today so perhaps that’s been fixed. It also shows your revisions in a confusing way.
As a volunteer, I’m not privy to what’s going on behind-the-scenes, and again with feeling: I understand your frustration!
As for the little adverts about the various upgrades, they must be auto-generated and as far as I can determine you cannot remove them. I just stop noticing adverts and don’t take them personally. Though the ones on FaceBook can be quite disgusting…

As for contacting Support, I think they may be closed for the weekend.

I’ll modlook this topic, though I think once the post is lost, unless you find it in the trash, no one, even staff, can help you get it back.
I’ve learned the hard way that writing it the second time is easier, and perhaps better edited, (though adding pictures again is tedious).

Hi joycedara,
I’m so sorry you lost a post, but like timethief said, if it’s not in your trash, and you don’t see it in your revision history, it’s gone. :(

All support documentation is at http://en.support.wordpress.com
restoring from trash http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/#restoring-from-trash -
For others who may search and find this thread in the near future.
If and only if the post was created on the dashboard of your own blog at Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New then you ought to be able to recover a lost post or page from revisions if needs be. See here > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/03/21/wordpress-recovering-a-lost-blog-post-or-page/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-revisions/
See also if applicable > restoring from trash http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/#restoring-from-trashBut if the post was created here http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ there is no means of recovery as the auto-save is not functioning there.
Always create your posts on the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New
The auto-save works there and the post will be Standard post format unless you change it.Do not create posts here > http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ where the auto-save is not working and where you are creating an Aside post format.
Use an offline blog editor so you have backups on your own computer http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/

When I view my website I can see the pages at the top of the site but below that it says Not Found. Sorry but you are looking for something that is not here.

Hi watosay,
Could you please open a new support thread with your issue, since it is not related to the issue joycedara had, and that way we can better keep track of your question? Thanks.
