How do I control how much of a post shows up on the home page?

  I just want the first picture and a few lines of text to show up on the home page, with a link below to continue reading that directs to the full post like is shown in the demo for the Yumblog theme. How do I make this happen?

  Hello there,

  What you’re describing is a built-in feature of Yumblog. While this is not the default in your theme, Twenty Twelve, you can accomplish these excerpts in a different way.

  You will want to use the More Tag:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/
