How do I control my text size?
-
Hi,
I’ve been using wordpress for a while now but there are some little points which are really getting me to the end of my tether. I just write a small music blog, usually writing reviews elsewhere (like in an email) then copying over the text to create a post. However some of my posts are coming out in the wrong font or ridiculously small as you can see by my posts here.

The font is even changing size in the middle of a post! Can anyone help me here please? How do I stop it from doing this?
Thanks,

You stop it by stopping to paste from e-mails or other code-rich sources, because you introduce unwanted code – such as this (from one of your posts):
<div><span style="font-size:x-small;font-family:Arial;"><span class="021420414-27042009">You’d better prepare your posts in a simple text editor (e.g. Notepad for PCs, Text Edit for Macs), then format them in the post editor. If you have to paste from an e-mail, do it via the “Post as Plain Text” button of the post editor.
To correct the posts you have already published, highlight the whole of each post in the visual editor, click the “Remove Formatting” button, then click Update Post. If that doesn’t work, then in order to strip out the junk code you’ll have to copy the text from the visual editor, switch to html and paste it there, then Update Post.

Thanks for this. It does work better then as the text is all the same size, yet simply starting a new paragraph is giving me a three line space in between the paragraphs. Is there any way to stop this?
Sorry I’m really bad at this sort of thing!

A “three line space in between the paragraphs” is impossible without extra code. Link to a post with this problem so we can have a look.

Ok, my main problem is this post (which I’ve been trying to do all morning)#
All I would like it a line gap after “yeah” and “seconds”. As you can see I’ve managed it with one but not the other. On my editor it comes up one line gap for one and two line gaps for another!
The text has been put in as you said above.

You’ve still got some odd or messy code. Two colors of text, or is that intentional?
There is this line of code making the extra space between “Well, yeah.” and “You see…”
<div style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><span style="color:#000000;"><br />
There is this line of code making the extra space between “Well, yeah.” and “You see…”If you want the “extra” lines, then type in the visual editor and press return.
If you just want breaks, the easiest way is to type in the html editor. If you use the visual editor, then press shift and return for a simple break. -
Should say:
“If you just want breaks, the easiest way is to type in the html editor and just press return.” -
“If you want the “extra” lines, then type in the visual editor and press return.”
This is what I’m trying at the moment, it’s appearing in the editor but not when I look at the post.
“Two colors of text, or is that intentional?”
Not intentional no!
Argh, I’m just used to writing and pressing enter but it’s obviously not that simple!

“If you just want breaks, the easiest way is to type in the html editor and just press return.”
I also tried this and then it moved my paragraphs everywhere! In between the photos etc. No idea why.

Hi guys,
Thanks for all your help on this. I’ve got it working now look-
I think it was just playing up for some reason? I’m going to try and amend the other threads now.
