How do I control whether a page opens in a new window or in the current one

  • Hi there,

This is not possible to change on WordPress.com – WordPress.com follows the standard practice that new posts or pages always load in the same browser tab, unless the viewer uses the browser’s built-in options to open in a new tab. Forcing a link to always open in a new tab overrides a site visitor’s browser settings, causes accessibility problems for people who can only use keyboard navigation or who use screen readers, and is not considered a good practice in website design.

That said, the account you’re using to post here does not own any sites on WordPress.com.

If you’re using the open source WordPress software at another host, please ask for help at https://wordpress.org/support/forums instead.
