How do I correct upload directory issues?

    Hello,

After a WordPress upgrade to 4.1, several things crashed in my theme. Specifically a Nivo Slider where I can no longer upload photos and it has crashed my pages as you can no longer access them… waychillreiki.com. When trying to upload photos, it says “Failed to open upload directory.” I’ve exhausted so many things that I actually resorted to trying to re-install the theme to no avail. Once again when trying to re-install the theme I’m given this message, “Unable to create directory wp-content/uploads/2015/04. Is its parent directory writable by the server?” Again this uploads directory. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, I’m at my wits end…. thanks in advance
