how do I create a banner image that doesn’t repeat with each post?

I am at a loss here. I just want to create a banner image on top of the page that doesn’t repeat with each post, like a traditional website banner. I’ve tried featured image, cover image, image but to no avail pleeeeeeeeeeeeease help *offers cookie* thank you

thanks for the suggestion. I tried this but alas it still repeats with each post. I just want a single banner that appears on top of the site that doesn’t repeat with each post? i want to create a main banner for the site as a whole. any other ideas? there must be a way?

Without seeing your site it is difficult to understand your issue. Is the site perhaps set to only show one post at a time with next and previous buttons. Should you be setting your posts page to show infinite scroll?
