How do I create a block quote?
-
How do I create a block quote in my post? I’m using Twenty Eleven theme. I recently posted an all-word post http://alittlebitofanne.wordpress.com/2012/08/01/know-some-filipino-make-a-new-friend/ and I think it would look better with a block quote somewhere. I checked the how-to’s but I can’t hack it. Please help?
Thanks!

In the Visual editor, highlight the text you want to be a quote, then choose the icon which looks like a big left quotation mark
(shortcut is apparently Alt + Q) -
I tried that but this is what I want to achieve:
http://alittlebitofanne.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/picture-1.pngHow do I get the quote to be in a bigger font and clustered on the side like this? This tutorial page doesn’t show me how (or I can’t click on the linked instruction that has a code). It just tells me that it’s easy to do. But how?
Thanks for your help!

I DID IT!!!
So I have to set the format of my post to QUOTE first before the codes can work. Sweet!
Thanks again! You guys are great.

You have to make the quote into a div so you can add appropriate padding left and right and add styling to make the font larger:

and
http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/06/19/formatting-text-pt-2/If you purchase the custom design upgrade, the you won’t have to put this code into every quote over and over.
BTW you enter those codes in the html TEXT editor, not the Visual Editor.

Hey, that worked! It was a bit tedious, but not too hard. I was able to increase the font size, font style and the line spacing.
Thanks again for helping me!
