How Do I create a carousel of different images for my header image?

    Hi
i have a blog at surferrosa.com.au. I currently use the free 2011 theme which is one of your themes that support customisation.

I would appreciate if you could advise me how if and how I can I create a repeating carousel of different images on a loop for my header image? Something like the what happens in the default selection of header images that come with 2011, but I want to use images from my on media library
    thanks

    Howdy Russell,

First, you’ll want to upload header images via Appearance -> Customize -> Header.

Then, in the same area, you can select “Randomize Uploaded Headers” as shown here:

That should rotate through your uploaded header images. Can you give that a try?

    Hi Jeremey,

thanks mate, that worked. It randomizes them on different pages – i don’t suppose you know how to randomize them so they dissolve on the same page do you?
    cheers

    Hey Russell,

I’m afraid a rotating image feature (one that rotates through the header images without reload) won’t be possible with the Twenty Eleven theme. I just browsed through our themes, and I don’t believe we have one available that rotates through a set of static images automatically. The sliders we have available rotate through the featured images of assorted posts. When clicked, the images take you to those posts. You can see an example of this on Mirror:

That site is rotating through some featured posts, not a set of static header images so I don’t think that achieves what you’re looking for.

No problem Russell! Sorry I don’t have a better solution at the moment.
