How do I create a horizontal navigation menu that is visible on iphone and ipad?
-
I have tried to edit the CSS for my navigation menu, using the information I’ve found through various WordPress forums. Although my navigation menu appears to be horizontal on my desktop computer, it is listed as a drop-down on both my i-pad and i-phone. None of the online references have helped me at all. I have no experience with CSS. I am computer illiterate, for the most part. I hardly ever use a desktop computer, so making sure that my navigation bar is horizontal on other devices is very important to me.
Please Help.

Hi there,
Firstly, that is a smart looking blog you have there. I really like the colors you chose as well as the header image. Great job! :)
Although my navigation menu appears to be horizontal on my desktop computer, it is listed as a drop-down on both my i-pad and i-phone.
That is because this theme is coded to have a responsive layout, and collapses the menu to save space on devices with smaller screens. You may also notice that your sidebar (with widgets) also moves to the bottom (below your content) to save space as well.
This is a common strategy for fitting lots of content on a small screen, and one that many modern websites, even those that are not on WordPress.
That is to say that it is unfortunately also not easy to disable this behavior with CSS, as it is coded into the theme in a way that is difficult to remove. You may wish to try a theme that is similar to this one, but is not responsive in nature, or is responsive, but does not have a collapsing menu.
Here are two that came to mind, but you can find others by exploring http://theme.wordpress.com
