Hi Callista!
Your blog is Protected, so I can’t access it to give you super specific instructions, but I can give you some general advice!
– You can’t direct readers to download a file from your hard drive. In order for your readers to download your .pdf, the file will need to be stored somewhere publicly accessible online.
– If you have access to storage on the web, you can upload your .pdf there, and link directly to it that way.
– Alternatively, there is at least one WP plug-in that could help you out: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/download-monitor/Does this help?

There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we bloggers cannot install any plugins.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/FTP access and plugins are only for VIP bloggers http://vip.wordpress.com/our-services/ or for those with WordPress.ORG installs.
Please read this comparison for clarity > WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ And p[lease do not post WordPress.ORG response to WordPress.com questions on this support forum as it confuses bloggers.

@callistarena
These are your options on a free hosted WordPress.com blog.The following processes are outlined particularly for users who wish to upload a document and add its download link to a blog post or page.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/uploading-documents/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/accepted-filetypes/If you want to embed the document itself, you will have to use a third party application like Scribd or Google Docs. Otherwise, the documents will appear as a download link.
