How do I create a new domain-mapped blog?

  Hi everyone. I’m new to wordpress so forgive me if this sounds a bit simple.

  I want to create a blog and use a domain name I have already purchased and map it to my blog.
  I have already redirected the name servers to ns1.wordpress.com and ns2 & ns3
  Ive created an account on wordpress but not a blog.
  When I attempt to start a blog there is only an option for having a wordpress name.
  What should I do next? create a wordpress name blog and try and upgrade it after its created or is there a different way?

  Create the blog with a WP.com name, and before you take it public, purchase the domain name upgrade. Once that has settled in (up to three days) you can take the blog public. Then all the links and so on will be to your new, owned domain name.
