How do I create a pdf of my entire blog? Does exporting delete or just copy?

I would like to create a pdf of my blog. I have Adobe Pro and know how to create a pdf from a web site, BUT when I do this for my blog, the pdf only includes the most recent posts; it stops at the point where a reader would need to click the box for “Older Posts.” Is there a way to pdf the entire blog? If not, if I “export” my blog, does that remove the content from WordPress or merely create a copy that I can then use for my backup or other purposes? Thanks for your help!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Let me start with your second question: The export doesn’t delete your content. It creates an XML file of your blog’s content that you can keep as a backup if you want, or to upload your content to a different compatible site, etc. Keep in mind the XML file does not contain copies of your media files, but only links to where they are hosted in your media library. And while you can open the file in a word processor or text editor, it’s not in an easily readable format.

One of the things you can do with that file is upload it to certain websites that will use that information to create a printable PDF. Others can do that using your blog’s RSS feed. Thanks for the helpful reply. All I really want to do is create a pdf that contains the photos as well as the textual content. Adobe Pro will do that BUT it only picks up the most recent posts. It stops making the pdf at the point where, if you looked at my blog on line and scrolled down as far as you could go, WordPress directs you to click to see “older posts.” I haven’t found a way to get Adobe to make a pdf of the entire blog, and of course since the way Adobe works is by using the URL for your blog, opening up the older posts does not help.

Anyone know how to get the whole blog captured by the pdf, and not only the posts more recent than where WordPress cuts off the display of posts?

Thanks so much for any help!

  • If you click on the first link I provided you will find links and names of several services that does exactly that.
