How do I create a special RSS feed for Google News "Editors picks"?

Thanks! I’ll go back to Google with that.

Let me know what they say! Also, it might be worth asking if there’s another way for you to include the image. The featured images for your posts, for example, should definitely be big enough.

Question: what is the dimension of the Blavatar WordPress sends on its RSS feeds? I need to tell Google is the problem is shape and dimensions, or just the shape.

Google reply: “If you currently use a feed generator that doesn’t allow logo customizations, it may be more useful to try other feed generators instead.”

Just checked about a bunch of RSS feeds and it appears right now blavatar will always send out as 96 x 96 pixels in RSS feeds when using an uploading blavatar image. The default image may be different, but I’m sure they’ll always be square. I’ve checked in again with our developers but right now have no updates on how that can be customized.

Google offers an RSS product, called Feedburner, that can help you customize RSS feeds and might be a better quick fix for you right now.

    1. In a new window or tab, go to Feedburner: http://feedburner.com
    2. Feedburner is a Google product, so if you already have a Google account, just sign in; if you don’t have a Google account, you’ll need to create one.
    3. Once signed in, you’ll see a welcome message: “Welcome to Feedburner!”
    4. Below the welcome message is an invitation to “Burn a feed right this instant. Type your blog or feed address here:”
    5. Paste in your RSS feed address in question: http://fabiusmaximus.com/tag/employment/feed/

Feedburner should let you customize that feed, upload a new image, etc, then give you a new RSS link. You can then provide Google that feedburner link.
