How do I create a subdomain for WordPress?”
-
I run my website usadraftsman.com and I’m thinking about creating a subdomain, like
blog.usadraftsman.com, to organize content separately.I’m not sure about the best way to set it up on WordPress. Should I create a new WordPress installation for the subdomain, or can I manage it from my current site? Are there any important things I should know about subdomains on WordPress?
Any advice or step-by-step guidance would be really appreciated!
Thanks in advance

Hello there,
At this moment, WordPress.com does not support subdomains of this type. I see that your site though is on a self-hosted WordPress installation. You can read about the difference here: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
I’d suggest you ask for more info on the WordPress support forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
To get you started though, you have 2 options:
1- You can create literally two separate sites with 2 separate WordPress installlations
2- You can use WordPress multisites: https://learn.wordpress.org/lesson/setting-up-a-wordpress-multisite-network/
For more info on this, please refer to the WordPress.org documentation: https://wordpress.org/documentation/
