Hi there,
You’re trying to set up your page like the Purpose theme’s three-column demo page, right? There are two steps for that:
1. You can choose the “Three Column” template for the page you want to have three columns on. (You can choose that template in the editor’s sidebar when you are editing the page.)
2. You can add widgets to the Left Sidebar and Right Sidebar widget areas in the “Widgets” section of your site’s Customizer.
You can find more details about setting up the Purpose theme on the Purpose support page, and if you have any other questions you can also contact the theme author directly in the Purpose support forum. :)

Ah! Thanks for clarifying. So, you’re trying to setup the section shown here on the front page:
That section actually just displays the content from this page:
https://purposedemo.wordpress.com/who-we-are/
The homepage template for the Purpose theme (what you see on the front page of the demo) has featured content areas. The Who We Are section of the front page mirrors the content on the Who We Are page mentioned above. Since the content on the page is in columns, the content is in columns on the homepage.
The easiest way to create columns within your page like that would be the CSS Way shown here:
https://vip.wordpress.com/documentation/how-to-create-columns-in-posts/
Can you give that a try?
