How do I create a traditional web page artwork gallery?

  • Unknown's avatar

I want to create what is essentially a gallery. I want to set up a traditional website with static frontpage with a title and large front splash image over a simple neutral dark background and with several thumbnails that link to several other pages. On each of these pages i want a grid or some arrangement of thumbnail images that when clicked on, would open a larger size image of the art. Is this something that can be done with wordpress? If so, how would I do it?

    Thank you

  • That’s going to be a bit hard to do. Gallery items can’t link to external links, so what you’ll need to do for a the first part is find a theme that looks close to what you want, where each “gallery” element will actually be a post, and then do some major CSS tweaks via a Custom Design upgrade to align them the way you want to.
