How do I create drop down menus/pages on my site
-
I have tried to create a menu as part of my blog. There are about 4 pages I have tried to incorporate into the site. I CANNOT MAKE THAT HAPPEN! My left brain must be shorting out because for some reason it is difficult for me to follow the instructions and I have tried. H-E-L-P.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Troubleshooting – My Pages aren’t appearing
They must be public pages – not private – not draft.
Public – The page will be visible to everyone.
Protected – The page is protected with a password you set. Only people who have the password can view a protected page.
Private – Pages are only visible to blog Editors and Administrators. Private pages are not visible in Reader, feeds, or in any search. A page can be private without being password protected.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-visibility/To edit the Page(s) and check visibility settings go to > Dashboard > Pages > All Pages and hover over the page title then click “edit” http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/edit-pages-screen/
If you created a custom menu http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/ then you can add Pages to it
http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#adding-pagesYou can also have each Page you create automatically
added to the custom menu.
Appearance > Menu
Menu Settings (bottom right corner)
Auto add pages __ Automatically add new top-level pages to this menu.
“save menu” -

Some themes are natively designed to have dropdowns and some are not. If you create a custom menu then you can have dropdowns using any theme.

Hi,
I am trying to create submenu (or even drop down menu) to my customed top menu, but an item put as child page to the parent one appears in the top menu like all parent pages.
Is it possible not to hide child pages in main top menu and let them appear in a moment I’m hovering over the parent page name in the main menu?
My webpage address is monikamanduk.wordpress.com
and for the trial I’ve created “poland” child page under “street” parent. And “poland” appears as if it was a parent page, in top menu.
I’ve read many threads, but still dont know how to solve the problem. Please help:) Thanks a lot:) -

yes, I’ve already done it, and “poland” is dragged to the right, but still it appears in my menu like parent page.
You can take a look at my page at monikamanduk.wordpress.com (“poland” should be hidden under “street” but it’s parallel).
Thanks in advance for help:) -
You’re welcome.
I checked the sourcecode of your page, and saw that you have successfully turned that item into a subitem. Tested it in my test blog too, to confirm things: it’s a mistake on this theme.
But note that you’re using a Custom Menu widget. Subitems in a CM widget don’t show as a dropdown, they should show as an indented list. For a dropdown you’d need to set the menu as your primary menu instead of using a CM widget. But Publish has a worse mistake in this case: no dropdown, no nothing – subitems disappear! So this is something that needs to be corrected by WP. I’ll post in the Themes forum about it. You can wait and see if WP will fix it, or you can switch to a different theme.

Thanks for checking it out:) At least I won’t experiment anymore with this menu/submenu until it’s fixed, I hope soon;-)
