How do I create the excerpt that I want for my featured post?
-
Hi all,
Is there a way for me to customize the excerpt of the featured posts that are displayed on the front page instead of it displaying the text that is on the page?
Thanks a lot in advance.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Dexng,
The excerpt is something available in WordPress but you need to ‘activate’ it since it’s hidden !
You can learn more about it here http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/excerpts/ , you’ll find at the end of the article how to activate it through ‘Screen Options’ in the Article creation page.
Write back if you don’t find it !

Hi francisbob,
Thanks for the advice! However I tried searching for the excerpt tab under the screen options and it was not there. Could it be due to the theme that I am using?
I am able to see the excerpt option on another site that I host on WordPress.org but not the one on WordPress.com.

As raincoaster said above:
The except box which is an HTML editor is located in the module below the editor. http://snag.gy/X9j01.jpg
