How do I CSS code for my footer shape to appear as an image vs. the generic box?

  My footer in my 2014 theme is a grey rectangle. It is completely generic. I would like to give it the same effect as the footer shown in the link below, Of course the image will be different. I tried to semi copy the CSS coding I found on the below website with the inspect element but, unfortunately it did not work.

  The blogs I am working on are private but the footer CSS of 2014 has not been tampered with yet.
