  how do i default to original color scheme for background?

  Hi there. If you go to the Customizer where you originally set the background colour (The Customize link on the My Sites page), click on Colours and Background. There should be a “Default” button next to the Background heading which will reset your colours. If you uploaded a custom background image, click the “Change” button on the image to remove it.
