How do I delete an expired domain?

My domain iamlafreddieb.net expired in September. At the present moment, I rather continue with my free domain lafredieb.wordpress.com. My reads get a message that the blog is expired and to contact the blog owner. What do I need to do to remove this domain so that my readers can have access to my blog again?
I understand that if they attempt to access my blog from a PC they will get a dismiss option in the upper right hand corner of the message. However, most of them are attempting to access my blog from a mobile device. On the mobile, the message is to large to fit on the screen, therefore making it impossible to select dismiss.
