How do I delete an incorrect .wordpress.com blog address name?
-
When registering a domain, I selected the option for “therottenapple.net” for $18 a year (Which WordPress said was available.)
I was never taken to a billing / confirmation page, rather on my WordPress main page, it now shows THREE domains, NONE of which are what I selected to PAY for. It is showing my blog address as “therottenappledotnet.wordpress.com”, “therottenappledotnet1.wordpress.com” and “onebadappledotcom.wordpress.com”. Not only are these not what I signed up for, but I only need ONE domain. Your instructions to Permanently Delete a WordPress blog are presumably out of date, as there is no “Tools” link in the Dashboard or anywhere in the mobile app. All 3 of these need to be removed / deleted please. Thank you.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Well, that’s fabulous. WordPress makes it seem as if you’re contacting THEM for support and then they just post your email to a public forum. Hurrah. Well, if anyone knows how to completely delete these incorrect blog addresses from this wordpress account, I’d be grateful for your assistance. In the mean time, I’ll be researching other blog hosting options.

In order to domain map one needs a .wordpress.com underlying blog URL to map to from the domain., As you were focused on the domain URL the software provided the .wordpress.com underlying blogs for you to be able to complete the transaction.
Please do nothing knowing that the deletion is a permanent act and be patient while waiting for Staff to help you sort this out. I tagged this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

It looks like there was no domain registration when you created your site. The domains you reference are the underlying WordPress.com URLs that we use to keep track of your site.
The.wordpress.com address is an internal address that was created when you created your account and blog. Some people use this as their external address, but when you purchase a domain upgrade no one will see this address anymore.
If you ever decide to no longer use the domain, your site will still be available at the .wordpress.com address.
Does that clarify things? Please let me know if you have any other questions.
How would you like to move forward? You can purchase your domain here:
And select which site you’d like it to be mapped to. Then, you can follow these steps to delete your other sites:
This is not something you can do from the mobile app. You’ll need to be in the WP Admin dashboard which you can access by selecting “Classic Dashboard” from My Sites.
Let me know if I can help further!
