How do I delete categories?

All the pages explaining how to do it seem to be from past layouts of the site. I can’t find the place to delete one I made by accident to save my life.

Try going to https://YOURSITE.wordpress.com/wp-admin, then select Posts -> Categories. Is that the page you were trying to find?
