How do I delete "Home" and change the link to homepage to another word?

  I would like to get rid of or change the name of “Home” — the title of the first page that comes up with the posts…

  You can assign that to a differently titled page followed this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/

  If you just want to change the title rather than switch the page, you can build your own menu via Appearance -> Menus in your blog’s Dashboard.
