How do I delete old comments of mine from other people's blog posts?

I want to delete comments I posted to someone else’s blog a long time ago. How do I do that?

  • Unknown's avatar

I have the same question. I had a blog owner delete them from there site but they still show up in the all section of “my tool bar”? on some web sites. lil help?

Is this not the right forum for this kind of question? Where do i go for this kind of question?

You can’t. The blog’s owner “owns” your approved comments on their posts and if they say “no” when you ask them to edit or delete them then you are hooped. That is what we caution bloggers to never say anything in any comments made online that they may regret they said in the future.

You will have to contact the blogger in question and ask them to do this for you. Staff cannot do this. Please see the relevant support doc:
Can I edit comments I left on someone else’s blog?

    Enable or Disable Comments

timethief Thank you. I had the blog owner remove the comments. Unfortunately they still show up when I click I don’t know how else to describe it other than a word press tool bar that shows up at the top of some of my web pages Oddly enough it shows up on Discuss sites. quite perplexing. I don’t know how the 2 got intertwined. Is there a way to delete a wordpress account to make them go away period? Thanks.

Does the site you commented on use Disqus? Then a) you’re asking in the wrong forum because no WordPress.com sites use Disqus and b) you can delete your own comments from Disqus by going to your account there.

The site i originally commented on said they use wordpress this is what it says below the comments section ” You are commenting using your WordPress.com account. ” The site where this word press tool bar shows up always says powered by Discus at the bottom of the comments section “Subscribe Add Disqus to your site Privacy” and this word press tool bar does not store any of the comments I make on that discus website

So yeah umm kinda lost here…

So, you commented on a WordPress.org blog that is using the disqus comments plugin and you logged in via your WP.com credentials.

    ummm perhaps

Now that I think about it more there was only one web site i commented that used wordpress and I don’t use that site anymore so if i get my wordpress account deleted that should fix this I would think. I should always be able to resign up if I wanted to.

So how do I deleted a wordpress account and everything tied to it?

  • Unknown's avatar

You cannot delete a WordPress.com account.

    ??

So someone goes and start spamming foul and ignorant stuff on blogs all over the place and word press wont delete that account? Obviously that isn’t the case but that doesn’t make sense. It would be like the ultimate troll tool.

So how would I “So, you commented on a WordPress.org blog that is using the disqus comments plugin and you logged in via your WP.com credentials.” separate this and remove it from showing up on random sites in my browser?
