How do I delete one of my suscribers from my blog?

Email subscribers can be manually removed by clicking on the remove subscriber link under the subscriber: http://en.support.wordpress.com/blog-subscriptions/#subscription-statistics-removing-subscribers
BUT and it’s a big BUT if they are wordpress.com users and have subscribed to the blog itself through their “subscribe” button in their gray admin bar, then you cannot delete them.
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/what-the-what-has-been-going-on-with-subscription-numbers-in-stats?replies=41#post-546142For trolls, you can “blacklist” them at Settings > Discussion toward the bottom of that page. Enter their email address, their username, and if they included it, their website. That will automatically send them to moderation so that their comments do not appear on the blog. Do note though that if they are determined, they can use a different email address or username to get around that. Also, do not put their IP address in the blacklist. IP addresses are no longer unique, and you might end up blocking legitimate visitors. Also, all they would have to do is go to a wi-fi hot spot, or connect via a different ISP and they could get around that.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/#comment-blacklistOne other thing I would suggest is to set your blog so that first time commenters are held in moderation till approved, then from that point forward they will not need approval. Settings > Discussion. The next step on that of course is to set it so that all comments are held in moderation until approved. That way you are in control, and they might just get tired and go elsewhere after a while.

Im afraid a “Happiness Engineer” recently mentioned that there was no way to remove subscribers from our subscribers’ list. See Macmanx answer here : https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/can-we-approvedisapprove-subscribers?replies=15

I have already linked to what Staff said in another thread above.
if they are wordpress.com users and have subscribed to the blog itself through their “subscribe” button in their gray admin bar, then you cannot delete them.

Mmmm… If you re-read what macmanx says, this applies to ANY subscriber. He actually thanks you in that thread for pointing out that there is no such link “Remove subscriber” under ALL subscribers anymore, and that this section has been REMOVED from the Support pages. Please re-read the thread Ive linked to :). Plus just go to you subscribers’ list, you will see that there is NO “Remove subscriber” link under the subscriber’s name, with or without a .COM blog…
Hope that helps. -
As long as your site is publicly available on the web, there is no way to block specific people from seeing it. The “Remove Subscriber” link didn’t ban a user from your site, stopped them from reading it, or even prevented them from subscribing to it again. Note that there is no limit for how many people can subscribe to your site.
I have now re-read both entries. Thank you so much for the correction. I really appreciate it because I don’t want to misinform people so I will now update my notes. :)

You are most welcome.
This situation of not being able to remove subscribers strikes me as odd though, because Macmanx’s answer implies that the OP wanted to prevent people from visiting their blog, hence his answer that you pasted above. But all what she was saying was that she knew that said subscriber could come to the blog whenever they wanted, but she wished she wasnt sending that specific subscriber an email whenever she was writing something new, as she didn’t want to draw attention on her from that person for whatever reason…. which I believe is a reasonable request.
Thank you for linking to the thread you pointed to: I learned that they have removed the numbers of “pending subscriptions” as well as their addresses, supposedly because we should not be able to see that yet. Im sorry but some of my subscribers by email actually simply forgot to click on the confirmation link, and were quite happy that I sent them a reminder (only one though) to go check for that email and click on the link. At the end of the day, they clicked on the link, they entered their email, they typed the “captcha’, all of which indicates to me that they DID want to be part of the list…
Anyway, to cut a long story short, Im glad I did not leave Feedburner when this feature from WordPress was introduced, as I can still remove subscribers myself, view their email addresses , including pending ones, and also see at what time exactly they entered their address and accepted the subscription. I believe that WordPress.com feature has less options than Feedburner….

In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into a desired emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_%28Internet%29

Jessie asks “Why would you want to delete a subscriber?” In my case, I like to keep an accurate count of subscribers. One of mine has just died. I’d like to remove his address from my subscriber list. Can it be true that WordPress gives us no way to do this?

Timethief, thanks for the quick reply. Wow. That’s stunning to learn. Hmm. I hear that it’s possible to request that a WordPress person delete a subscriber for us. Can anyone confirm… and point me to HOW to put in this request?
-
@marciarieferjohnston: Yes, staff can remove subscribers. See here

Yes, I see THAT staff can remove subscribers. But I don’t see HOW or WHERE we go to put in our request. Can anyone help? Thank you.

Thank you all so much. Actually, I would never , ever want to delete a subscriber if this wasn’t an extreme situation. It’s an exboyfriend that’s trying to give me hell any way he can. Unfortunately, he too is a wordpress user. i know he can get to my blog a billion different ways, but it just sickens me to know he gets an email every time I post. Again, thank you all for your help. My blog is only 1.5 months old and my hit counts are through the roof. No way I’m deleting blog over an infantile dramarama. Again, thank you all for your insight and happy writing!!!!!

@ aayoung – I feel your pain. There’s someone subscribed to my blog that I’d be so much happier if they didn’t get the email each time I post – can’t stop em reading my blog, it’s public, but it makes me feel yuck knowing he gets my blogs direct to his inbox… blech…
-
Ah, you do indeed feel my pain. Just know it’s the last vestige of manipiulation he has. The
last way he can mess with your head. My suggestion: adopt a zen approach and write whatever you want, with out considering Stalky McStalkmeister.
