How do I delete or edit a name in my categories?

i think my main query/aim is this: i wanted to change the category to one sole category called ‘uncategorized’ but continue tagging posts in the hope that the wp search engine can pick up my posts/tags and list in the global tag listings…

I checked your blog and I see that you were able to change all posts to the category “uncategorized,” so that part of your question appears to be resolved.
Changing the category like that is not the best way to try to get past posts not being listed in Reader Topics. I would advise against doing that. Regarding Topics, not every blog is listed. Excessive use of tags is one possible reason. It sounds like you have may have some other stuff going on and that you have been posting in a few different threads. I will keep an eye out for a more on-topic thread to reply to about that since this one is specifically about categories.

thank you, designsimply. when i logged in later all the posts got updated to ‘uncategorised’, yes. i changed them from @abdelxyz after advice from timethief. and i’ll post elsewhere in a more relevant forum about my posts not showing up in wp global tag listings, thank you.
