how do I delete or edit a post

  • Unknown's avatar

    why can’t we edit the posts we leave at the sites you monitor?

  • Unknown's avatar

    To delete a post try logging in to the admin area of your wordpress using this link https://talkyrepublic.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php
    That will take you directly to posts where you can both delete or edit posts

If you are not “bratface23”, please log out, and log back in with your username. If you are “bratface23” and you need access, please ask an administrator of the site to invite you.

    Well that isn't very helpful! I get the message above when I click your 'talkyrepublic' link!

    What is the URL of the site that the post is published on that you wish to delete?

    Did you register the site under your username account?

    If you did not then no you cannot edit or delete content on a site someone else owns.

    Your links in this email are *BROKEN*! I get a *’WHOOPS’ error *message for *ALL* of the links in this email.

    The comment is above. I DID NOT POST THAT PARTICULAR COMMENT AT THAT SITE! I sent a reply to the original notification email when all of the links in that email (and all the other notifications from that particular article) turned out to be broken. But instead the question posted to the site (which is really dumb in my book).

    I still don’t understand your question. Try explaining better please!

    I left a comment at ‘Variety.com’ about a review of ‘The Mummy’, I checked the box to receive notifications of new posts and then received a bunch of emails that had BROKEN LINKS. So I sent a reply to the EMAIL I RECEIVED about the BROKEN LINKS that ended up as a comment at the original site (Variety.com). That has to be one of the dumbest things I have encountered on the internet! Why would it post as a comment instead of looping back to you? So could you please delete that comment on the Variety site (it makes me look like a moron).

    Chief, You can’t understand my message because ‘wordpress’ is sending them different places. All I want to do is delete a post at a site that ‘wordpress’ oversees/controls the comment section.

    @chiefprofessor
    Before we answer any support question we ascertain the URL of the site in question and exactly who hosts it.

    @bratface23

    What is the URL of the site starting with http:// that the post is published on that you wish to delete?

    Did you register that site under your own username account?
    Yes or no?

    If you did not register that site then you cannot edit or delete content on a site someone else owns.

    time, I sent the info yesterday and as you can see some of the message didn’t make it here. This is the site address:

    Here is the comment (date & time) I would like to delete:

  • Hi @bratface23, as @timethief mentioned with this link, once you’ve posted a comment on the site, the site owners control the content moderation. We don’t delete comments for them. But you would be welcome to get in touch with them to see if they’ll remove your comment for you.

    supernovia,

    To begin with since when is Variety.com a blog? It is a major entertainment site. Secondly I DIDN’T POST THE COMMENT IN QUESTION TO THAT SITE, WORDPRESS DID! I sent a reply to an email I received from WORDPRESS about all the links in the emails NOT WORKING! I DID NOT LEAVE THAT MESSAGE AT Variety.com! I just want it removed!

  • Nevertheless, the site (or blog) owners are the only ones who can edit that. Please get in touch with them, @bratface23 . I’m closing this thread.
