How do I delete some of my categories?

  I realized that some of my categories are superfluous, but don’t see an option on how to delete them.

  You can delete categories from Posts -> Categories.

  Note that if a post was assigned to a category you delete, it’ll be assigned to your default category. If you need to reassign categories to your posts, you can use Quick Edit on the Posts -> All Posts screen.
