How do I delete the avatar from my blog.

I have deleted the avatar from everywhere I can find it in my gravatar profile, which now shows a grey default. The avatar still shows up next to my profile drop down menu on my blog and I can’t find any way to remove it. I’ve cleared my cache, logged in and out, and waited overnight but it still shows up, meaning it is still being stored on a server somewhere. To be clear, I want to delete the avatar image from everywhere, so that only a default avatar shows up.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It can take some time, up to 72 hours to clear all the servers. Your gravatar here in these forums is a default gravatar. I’d conclude that it is changing as you want it to.

Nope. The avatar is still visible to me despite my current gravatar being blank and my gravatar profile having no attached images. Apparently there no way to properly delete it from WordPress?

You can consult the gravatar FAQs http://en.gravatar.com/support/ and if you do not find an answer there, then you can contact gravatar staff directly http://en.gravatar.com/support/contact-us/

Thank you but the gravatar profile is not the issue. It’s blank, doesn’t show any images. It’s WordPress that won’t let go of its avatar.

Exactly where do you see the gravatar displayed?
Please post a URL so we can witness what you see. Alternatively, post screenshot, upload it to your Media Library, and return to this thread to provide the file name so Staff can examine it. I tagged this thread for their assistance. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond.

As I said, visible to me, which means it is being stored despite my trying to delete it.

Threads tagged for Staff assistance are usually dealt with on the basis of oldest in the queue coming first. Therefore, don’t bump this thread with a new reply, unless you have new information, as this pushes your request down in the queue.

I don’t see any gravatar or blog icon. Do you also encounter this issue in a different browser? for example Firefox or Safari. Otherwise make sure you cache using these steps

I’m in a similar boat and as this is a recent thread AND there’s support from staff, I’ve a problem.
I created a custom avatar for my self hosted wordpress blog.
upon adding some code with the location of the avatar (hosted on my own servers), I had the option in discussion to choose the custom avatar.
so I did
then I realized it was the wrong size.
Updated the avatar file but the image does not update. Deleted the avatar. Refreshed and avatar is still showing.
seems it’s been sucked up to wp and is stuck in a cache there that I can’t clear.
I never asked for the avatar to be stored anywhere but on my own site.
Very odd.
so now what?
I’ve got a new version on my server but the site is still serving the avatar from wp.
does it just refresh at some point?
did I say “odd” already?

if someone reads this down the road a bit and that link above points to an 88×88 then the cache reset itself.
as there’s nothing I can do about this, I’ll just wait
