How do I deregister from WordPress.com?

I signed up with WordPress.com but would like to leave the site. I have a domain name which I bought from GoDaddy (patriciarocbiography.co.uk) and signed up with HostGator.Com this morning. I want to create a wensite which allows me pluginins and I should be able to do this through HostGator and their various liks – but I can’t. WordPress.com is blocking me. What do you suggest?

You can’t delete your account, but you can install WordPress on your new domain. I believe HostGator has a one-click installer for it. Then, you can export your content from WordPress.com and import it to the new website.
You also won’t be using your WordPress.com login info, if that is what you mean by being blocked. It would be a different username and password.

What exactly do you mean by that? If you have your domain name mapped to here when you point the name servers to your new host you will be “disconnected” from WordPress.COM
