How do I direct a new post to a different page?
-
I have created a page for my book and other media reviews, but my new posts go to the default main page of the blog. I want to send some of them to my new page, others to the main page. I can’t find anyplace to make that happen.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If your blog is hosted at WordPress.COM, which we don’t know without a link to it, then you can’t use a “Page” as a place for several posts. A “Page” can’t be used as a junior blog.
-
This explains the differences between pages and posts: http://support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ , but to go further we really do need a link to your blog.

From what I gather looking at your responses, what I wanted to do isn’t possible, unless I just want to edit the page whenever I have something new to add. Sorry I didn’t give my blog URL:

Thanks for your help.

We can get you where you want to be in sort of a roundabout way.
The best way to do this is with categories. You create categories for the different sections or subjects you want and then assign those categories to the particular posts. Then you can use the procedure in this blog post, http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/26/page-tabs-as-external-links/ , to create tabs in the top navigation on your particular theme that will lead to those categories pages. Those categories pages will then list the posts ONLY in that particular category.
If you do not want those posts to be visible on the main page of the blog, you can create a static front page (name it Front Page), set that as the static front page, and then make another page for the dynamic blog posts list. You will end up with two “front page” tabs in the header, but one of them can be hidden. See these two support documents for more information on static front pages.

Go to DASBOARD Under “Settings” Click writting. You will see on that page it will allow you to send your posts to whatever page u want to.But im not sure how that works.I think it will post your next posts there..but leave your old ones in the previous category..which is originally your Cathegory.General if you have one.If not,”Settings” then click Reading. That will let you edit what u want to go on your Front Page “Home” and also some post settings. Will let you change you front page etc.
Hope it helps a litle. Its the less complicated way i found.I don’t know how well u know wordpress site settings or what ure site looks like..But its a first step to answer your question.

@famousdiva, all that information and far more is in the support documents and the blog link I left. There is no need to repeat what has already been said.

Go to DASBOARD Under "Settings" Click writting. You will see on that page it will allow you to send your posts to whatever page u want to.That is interesting as I had seen that before but not realized exactly what it did. Probably all posts in that category will go there, previous and future as long as they are in the category. Thanks for your input.

Actually, I’m searching for an answer to this question, and frankly, I’m glad famousdiva DID repeat it, because I don’t know my way around WP enough to have possibly found this myself. So thank you, famousdiva for repeating what was mentioned didn’t need to be repeated.
For beginners, repeating something is good.

@pjki-Actually, with all due respect, reading what famousdiva wrote, I didn’t understand half of what was said and I’ve been around WordPress sites a while. Just sayin’…
There is only one place your blog Posts primarily appear and that is your blog, whether that is called Home or Front Page or Blog makes no difference. It is the only place in your entire WordPress.COM site that will update itself with new Posts. If you want those Posts to be highlighted on their own page, add Categories to your Posts and include the Categories Widget in your blog’s sidebar. When someone clicks on the Category, a special page will be created on the fly that will include Posts solely in that Category. The technique tsp mentioned for getting those Category pages in the Navigation Bar of your theme is a more advanced technique for doing the same thing.
