How do I directly contact wordpress? Receiving Spam

    I can’t seem to find a direct line to WordPress. I received an email from evangelicals via WordPress and they said they set up a profile for me. What the hell? I need to know what’s going on and why my email is being given to the Child Evangelism Fellowship. So many things wrong here.

    Hi there,

    What is the URL of the site that sent you this? And what is the FROM address and exact subject line of the email?

    If the email came from a wordpress@ email address, it’s not from us. That’s the default email that’s used for stand-alone installations of WordPress. And in that case this would indicate that someone, most likely a spammer or a bot, is using your email to create guest accounts on random stand-alone WordPress sites that have that particular feature enabled.

    This is unfortunately a very common issue, and not much you can do about it apart from contacting the site in question directly and telling them you didn’t create that account, and that they must please delete it. We also don’t have any control over stand-alone WordPress sites, so there’s nothing we can do from our end.

    Any email from us would be from a @wordpress.com address instead, but it’s not possible to create a profile for someone on a WordPress.com site, as everything here is governed instead by a global username account rather than individual profiles for individual sites.

    My name is George King and I am the new Executive Director for Arc of St. Lucie. We have an existing website that needs updating and I cannot sign in. The credentials for sign in do not work anymore. The person that used to update the site no longer works for our organization. I cannot find any contact information to talk to someone to get help.     Thank you for the email. The issue I am having is not being able to log into our organization’s website. The credentials that I was given do not seem to work. Our website is Arc of St. Lucie.org arcofstlucie.org
