How do I disable all widgets so I only get the default widgets.
-
Hi can someone please help me out as I can’t understand what is going on.
I was messing around with the widgets and added the Archive widget to Sidebar
When I check Sidebar it gives me the following Message.
You are using 1 widget in the “Sidebar” sidebar.
Add more from the Available Widgets section.
But there aren’t any widgets listed below.
When I check what active widgets I have using the list on the left it says.
Archives A monthly archive of your blog’s posts
It doesn’t give me any other Edit links or anything like when you add other widgets.
Can someone tell me what to do?
Thanks

I managed to do this in a work around manner, anyway I think it’s a bug in WP.
I added another widget, refreshed the page, and then the Archive’s widget was visible, I removed the Archives widget and then re-refreshed the Page and removed the second widget I added.
I’ve just got one question left.
When you have a theme with 2 Columns with widgets instead of the usual single one, when you go to add a widget you’ve got 3 to choose from.
Sidebar
Sidebar 1
Sidebar 2Which ones are the real sidebar and why do 3 show up? and when do you add a widget how do you tell wordpress which sidebar you wish to add your widgets on, because as I see it wordpress is placing the widgets all over the place.

If you continually have the issue you have originally posted, clicking “Save Changes” usually helps remedy the situation.
I’m not sure what you mean by the “real” sidebar.
Under “Current Widgets” from Design -> Widgets, you will see a drop-down menu containing all of your sidebars. Select any of the sidebars and click “Show.” You will now be editing that particular sidebar.
