How do I disable comments?
-
I have read the article on how to enable/disable comments (http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/) but when I am in my Dashboard and click on “Settings” and then “Discussion,” there is no option to “Allow comments” or “Allow trackbacks and pingbacks on this page.” Please help. I want my site to look more like a website and only allow comments on the page that contains blog content.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
All WordPress blogs by default have comments open on all Pages and Posts. Your visitors click the post tiles or the comment links or comment bubbles on the front page of the blog and they are directed to the full post appearing on it’s own page where the comment boxes appear at the end of the posts.
You can enable and disable comments on free hosted WordPress.com blogs on this page > Settings > Discussion Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/You can override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.

You can reveal it by clicking on Screen Options http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ on the top right corner of your Admin page, and checking the box that says Discussion so the module is included. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modules

Thank you very much! I was able to disable comments using the “faster way” suggestion of going to Pages > All Pages, click Quick Edit under the page title, uncheck the relevant option, click Update. Same thing for comments and/or pings on a post, in Posts > All Posts.
