How do I disable "Leave a reply" comment box?

How do I disable “Leave a reply” comment box? I appear to have successfully done this on some pages, but not others. I’ve unchecked comments box under “screen options” . Support says go to Settings-Discussion and uncheck “Allow comments and Allow trackbacks etc. ” but they do not appear on the list? Thank you.

How do I disable “Leave a reply” comment box? I appear to have successfully done this on some pages, but not others.
One easy way to turn off comments on your pages is to go to Pages > All Pages and then click on the “Quick Edit” link under the title of the page you want to turn off commenting on. This will expand to reveal several page setting you can quickly edit.

The Screen Options tab just controls what settings boxes you want to show/hide on your editor view. So it doesn’t turn off comments. For that you will want to leave “Discussion” checked, and that will reveal the box (in your text editor) that allows you to then turn them off if you wish.
As an aside, I am a bit of a gearhead, and spent a little time checking out your gallery page. Nice work!
