How Do I Disable Mobile View?

I do not like the way my site looks on mobile. How do I disable the mobile view? I have read through a lot of forum posts that all say to go to WP Admin Dashboard / Appearance / Mobile but there isn’t a Mobile link anywhere under Appearance?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Sorry, the blog I need help with is: rivercityartandmusic.com. I was able to fix valerievanhorne.art.

  • Hi there,

All themes we offer on WordPress.com are designed to be mobile responsive, and it’s not possible to disable that. If you really wanted to, you can add custom CSS to override the mobile version of your theme, but we don’t provide support for that type of change.

It’s expected that you don’t see a Mobile link on the rivercityartandmusic.com site. That setting was for the old default mobile theme we used to have on WordPress.com when we still had a lot of older themes that weren’t mobile-responsive. In other words, you’d only activate that mobile theme if your site’s theme wasn’t itself mobile-friendly already.

That mobile theme has since been retired as all our current themes are mobile-friendly already, so that mobile theme is no longer needed, and you won’t find an option to manage it at all on your Business Plan site. You might still see it available on some non-Business Plan sites – it still exists on some sites that had the default mobile theme active at some point, to allow people to disable it.
