How do I disable the approval function for comments
-
Hi There,
To make my blog more accesible to non WordPress members, i don’t want commenters to have to go through an approval procedure. (I can delete spam etc myself if it appears.)
I did manage this before but on my recent blog the “moderate comments”default is back ( though I didn’t knowingly change it )I’ve gone through the settings and discussion infos and still cant find where i locate the option to “un-moderate”.
Please explain in very simple steps, thanks a lot!!
Kathy

You set this in Settings ->Discussion in the dashboard. To control who can comment, whether they need to be logged in or leave their email address, etc., look under “Other comment settings”. To control whether or not comments are held in the queue for moderation, see under “Before a comment appears”
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/P.S., if spam slips through, don’t delete it, but click the “Report Spam” link. Akismet is a learning engine and will eventually learn to capture those. On the other hand, comments from real users, even if they’re merely self-promotion, must be deleted, not reported as spam.
