How do I disable the visual editor

    How do I disable the visual editor?

    Old posts seem to indicate that this can be done by going to the Dashboard and then User->Your Profile and selecting the disable visual editor check box. However, this doesn’t appear to exist in my dashboard. I’d like to do this so that I can paste markdown into the text box without it getting mangled.

    You can switch from visual editor to text editor from within the page or post editor.

    Just above the editor to the right you will see two tabs “Visual” and “Text”, click on “Text”.
