How do I discard format from previous theme?

When I changed appearance to Twenty Fourteen it brought some formatting from a different appearance. Now I have widgets displayed on both side of the page and I want to keep the Twenty Fourteen look with the widget menu on the left but want the repetitive one on the left gone.

Hi there!
So it looks like you have the same widgets in your Primary Sidebar and Content Sidebar.
If you want to remove the ones on the left hand side of your site and only keep the one on the right, please remove the widgets under Primary Sidebar when you go to Dashboard > Widgets.
