How do I display a link to another site on my WordPress home page.
-
I followed the instructions in Help concerning how to display the link of my old site (http://www.hyperspacebook.wordpress.com) on my new site (innersanctumnews.wordpreess.com) and the link still did not appear on the new site’s home page home page. Please help if you can.
Thanks.

Hi there,
Which instructions are you referring to?
You might consider building a custom menu for your site:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/Your custom menu could include a custom link to your other WordPress.com blog.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#adding-custom-linksOnce you build your menu, be sure to activate it:

Hi Chris!
Thanks for your offer of help.
First I’ll explain the problem:
If you go to my original WordPress site (set up for me in 2010 by IUniverse, a sister company of my publisher, AuthorHouse), you will see on the right side of the home page, adjacent to the posts, links to my book’s website, to Amazon, to the AuthorHouse book store, to Barnes & Noble and to a host of Social Media sites. My original WordPress site is named after the title of my book, HYPERSPACE:
http://www.hyperspacebook.wordpress.com
My new WordPress site, just created, is called InnerSanctum News:
http://innersanctumnews.wordpress.com/
One of this new site’s purposes is to attract visitors to the HYPERSPACE site. I tried to place a link to the HYPERSPACE site on the new site’s home page as the above described links appear on the HYPERSPACE home page. I am EXTREMELY un-tech. However, I spent hours last night trying to resolve this issue on my own. First I looked at the information in the HYPERSPACE site’s Dashboard comparing it to what I saw on the InnerSanctum Dashboard. I entered Author Website in the InnerSanctum Link Categories as it appears in the HYPERSPACE site. Then I filled out the Add New Link page, following the instructions. I finished by clicking Add Link. Then I learned from Help about moving Link Widgets to the Footer Widget bar . . . which I did. I filled in Author Website as the Link; I specified that links should be listed by title, and I checked the Show Link Image and Show Link Name boxes. Then I clicked SAVE. After all of this the link did not appear on the InnerSanctum home page. Obviously I missed something. Maybe you know? If you think speaking to me on the phone would be easier (it’s probably something quite simple) tell me and I will send you my phone number in the next message. On the other hand, maybe you have already spotted where I went wrong and can let me know in a written message.
Anyway, thanks for you assistance.
Stan

Thanks Mac for the input.
Actually, I’ve been posting the link on a daily with the news posts. I still haven’t resolved the issue of establishing a permanent link on the right side of the home page. I’ll try again in the near future. Do you have any tips? Please refer to the description posted above.
Thanks.

Hi Stan,
I see the “Author Website” Links widget in the First Footer Widget Area. If you’d like that in the sidebar, you can drag that widget into the Primary Widget Area.
Alternatively, you can remove that Links widget (since it’s a single link) and add a Text widget in the Primary Widget Area, with this in the content area of the Text widget:
